Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Local Businesses in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
