Fake Carabinieri Scams Target Garda Business Owners: Stay Vigilant

They masquerade as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military publications.

They are not members of the military but are fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
