Phone Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Sell Fake Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, at various times, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,

when requesting money, disappear and are no longer visible.
