Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
