Fraudulent Calls Impersonating Carabinieri Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the forces’ magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire department, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you have a suspicion of being targeted by someone who,
