Fake Carabinieri Scammers Targeting Garda Hoteliers and Shopkeepers

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to be from finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or that have no connection to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
