Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who, if they have money, will no longer make themselves visible.
