Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the arms magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal Police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
