Scammers Impersonate Police in Garda, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when telephoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to police magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, firefighters, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
