Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the armed force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

once they have obtained money, disappear and do not reappear.
