Phone Scammers Impersonating Carabinieri Target Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the forces’ magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to be associated with finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.
