Fraudulent Calls Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Scam Hoteliers

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or the Comune‘s fire department.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fictitious magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
