Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Trick Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality‘s guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
