Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Calling for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri – just call 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
