Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Frauds

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
