Impostor Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisan, and restaurant operators in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These individuals are not military personnel but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

So, be careful and immediately alert the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have obtained money, will no longer appear.
