Work in Arco Wraps Up After Five Days of Citywide Improvements
A group of young people in Arco has completed five days of community service, with the support of tutors Arianna Angelini and Martina Calza and handyman staff Augusto Mascher and Enrico Meneghelli. The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Arco, focused on caring for and maintaining public spaces during the summer period.
Work was carried out across parks, cemeteries and municipal facilities. In the Arciducale Park, participants spread mulch and removed weeds manually; at the Massone cemetery they sanded and repainted gates, treated wooden doors, cleared vegetation and replanted flowerbeds. Other tasks included repainting yellow curb lines in Piazza Italia, preparing benches for the historic center, and sanding and painting equipment used at various cemeteries. A second team worked at the Romarzollo primary school, repainting benches and tables and fixing the fountain and flowerbeds, while also removing ivy and clearing weeds at the Via Mantova cemetery. They also removed graffiti and repainted utility boxes at the inter-municipal youth center “Cantiere 26”, cleaned the entrance courtyard at the town hall, and repainted walls in the bicycle parking area.
At the end of the project, the mayor and the councillor handed out shopping vouchers for participating workers and tutors, to be used in partner shops. The Municipality of Arco thanked all participants for their commitment to active citizenship and upkeep of shared spaces.
