Garda Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.
How to recognize scams
They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
