Scam Calls Pretending to Be Carabinieri Targeting Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making telephone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arms magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
