Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Area, Authorities Warn

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the arma‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you sense you have been targeted by someone who,
