Beware of Carabinieri Impersonators Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

They are not military personnel, but con artists who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they have taken money, will no longer show themselves.
