Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
