Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arme magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be associated with finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
