Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to fake magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who,
