They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the army.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
