Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Police to Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the financial police, the police, the fire department, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
