Scammers Impersonate Law Enforcement in Garda Region: How to Recognize Them

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
