Scammers impersonate Carabinieri to target Garda businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.
