Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Promote Fake Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipality‘s police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the authentic Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
