Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

These individuals are not military personnel but scammers who, at different times, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, if they had money, would no longer be visible.
