Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or to the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — by dialing 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, no longer show themselves.
