Scammers Impersonate Police to Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately report to the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
