Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Fraudulently Offer Magazine Subs

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing magazine subscriptions from the arm.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
