Scammers Impersonate Police to Trick Garda Businesses into Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
