Fraud Alert: Fake Carabinieri Offer Magazines in Garda Region

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions by phone, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the military but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
