Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda, Targeting Local Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the magazines of the arm.

However, these are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
