Police Impersonators Targeting Garda Hoteliers and Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making telephone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Comune guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
