Scam Calls Impersonating Carabinieri Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or to the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

after obtaining money, disappears and no longer makes appearances.
