Scammers Impersonate Police in Garda Area to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when phoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
