Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Businesses in Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when phoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and no longer show themselves.
