Garda Scam Alert: Impersonators Fale Police to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
