Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Police Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, no longer show themselves.
