Fraud Alert: Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arresting force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
