Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement forces.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri—just dial 112—at the first sign that you may have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and no longer appear.
