Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Businesses in Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the military, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and do not come back.
