Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region Phone Calls

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or local Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who,

having obtained money, no longer show themselves.
