Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.
These individuals are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.
How to recognize scams
They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have no connection to the law enforcement authorities.
Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the Carabinieri— just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
having obtained money, disappears without a trace.
