Scammers Impersonate Police to Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when they call hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

having obtained money, no longer appear.
