Scammers Impersonate Authorities to Trick Garda Businesses

The perpetrators pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, every time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal officers.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
