Night of Culture in Brescia: events and activities on October 5, 2024

On October 5, 2024, Brescia is set to host the Night of Culture, a highly anticipated event organized by the Culture Department of the Municipality. This initiative, which offers free access to a wide range of cultural activities, exhibitions, and artistic performances, promises to engage both locals and visitors in a unique experience celebrating art and culture.

Activities in Museums

During the evening, several museums in Brescia will remain open from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM with free admission. Among the main exhibitions:

  • Museum of Santa Giulia: For the first time, two significant works will be displayed together: the Resting Boxer and the Winged Victory. In addition, visitors can explore exhibitions by Massimo Sestini and Gabriele Micalizzi.
  • Tosio Martinengo Art Gallery: At 6:30 PM, there will be a guided tour on the fundamentals of the Renaissance, followed by family-oriented activities, including interactive workshops.
  • Risorgimento Museum Leonessa d’Italia: For teenagers aged 13 and above, a creative workshop will be held to create bas-reliefs inspired by the works of Giuseppe Bergomi.

Musical and Performative Events

The Night of Culture will also feature musical events:

  • Basilica of San Salvatore: A concert featuring a duo consisting of Paolo Pellegrini on clarinet and Federico Bianchetti on cello, with a repertoire ranging from classical to modern music.
  • Piazza Mercato: A DJ set featuring local and international artists presenting a mix of electronic and Latin American sounds.

Exhibitions and Installations

Numerous art galleries will remain open until 11:00 PM, offering the public access to special exhibitions:

  • A+B Gallery: A collective exhibition featuring contemporary emerging artists.
  • National Museum of Photography: Various temporary exhibitions dedicated to the world of photography.

Cultural Tours and Guided Visits

For those wishing to discover Brescia’s historical heritage, guided tours will be organized:

  • Palazzo Broletto: Guided tours of historical portraits organized by FAI volunteers.
  • Queriniana Library: Special opening to narrate the history of the building through ancient manuscripts.

Family Activities

Even the youngest can participate in creative workshops at various museums:

  • Museum of Arms Luigi Marzoli: An activity book will be dedicated to children aged 6 to 11.
  • Water Park: Board games to entertain kids throughout the day.

This event is an extraordinary opportunity to discover Brescia in a new light, immersing oneself in the vibrant local culture. With so many free initiatives, a large turnout of residents and tourists is expected.
